Thank you for your interest in joining our unit. 

To become a Young Marine, all youth members must complete Recruit Training. Recruit Training is designed to teach the recruits the basics of what it means to be a Young Marine. Recruits will learn:
  • Teamwork, Leadership, and Discipline
  • Close Order Drill
  • Military Terms and Jargon
  • Marine Corps Enlisted Rank Structure
  • Uniform Care and Maintenance
  • Physical Fitness
  • Military Customs and Courtesies
  • And More!
Things you need to know before joining:

  • This program is not meant for youth that need to be disciplined. Staff are non-licensed volunteers.
  • Youth members must be at least 8 years old and have not completed High School.
  • At least one parent/legal guardian and all youths to be registered must attend an Orientation/Registration night.

You will need to bring the following to Orientation/Registration night:
  • Birth Certificate and Social Security Card (for verification purposes only)
  • Immunization Record
  • Recent Physical Exam or School Sports Physical (less than one year old)
  • Copy of Medical Insurance Card (front and back)
Recruit Registration Fees - $50.00
$50 is the annual national registration for the Young Marines program.

Start Up Fees - $200.00
This is a one time fee to get started in the Young Marines program. This fee covers uniform, guidebook, and any other items that are provided to your youth. This does not cover the registration fee. It is in addition to (plan to pay a total of $250 to get started - we do discount for 2 or more youth being signed up at the same time).

Additional items provided by parents (must have at first training):
  • Plain Black PT/Gym Shorts
  • Plain Black Crew Neck T-shirt
  • Plain Black Sweatpants
  • Plain Black Crew Neck Sweatshirt
  • White Socks
  • Black Crew Socks (will be needed after Recruit Training to be worn with uniform)
  • Water Bottle (with water at start of night)
  • Notebook
  • Writing Stick
  • Gym bag or Backpack to hold gear (best to have one designated for Young Marines only)

Registered volunteers in the Young M
arines are adults age 18 and up who possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Every volunteer has been through a federal background check and verified through character references.
