Founded in 1959, The Young Marines is a national non-profit 501c (3) youth education and service program for boys and girls, aged eight through high school graduation. The Young Marines promotes the mental, moral, and physical development of its members. The program focuses on teaching the values of leadership, teamwork, and self-discipline, so its members can live and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
The Young Marines has 9 full-time employees and a network of more than 2,000 nationwide volunteers. The National Headquarters office is located in historic Dumfries, Virginia on the I-95 corridor, just two miles from Marine Corps Base Quantico and the National Museum of the Marine Corps.
